The Fine arts and Handicraft made from rattan, bamboo, ivory bamboo, neohouzeaua, luong and other types of sub forest products to produce the family interior furniture things in traditional style manufacture combination is the predecessor of Xuan Lai Bamboo and Rattan Import and Export Co-operative. However the consuming market still be limited and mostly serve for the demant of custormers within commune, district and rest sold out to other districts within the province.

The person whom placed the foundation for construction and development of Xuan Lai Co-operative is Mr.Le Van Xuyen – at the moment he is a co-operative chairman. He was the person whom loved working and traditional handicraft profession by origin, he always thinks about the way of expanding market and introducing the bamboo and rattan products to the consumers in everywhere not only on domestic but also overseas. His purpiose is to insrease the income, just improving the living condition of the family and fust construction Xuan Lai profession village strongly develoip and worthy of potential and traditional of the profession village.

From the years of 1985 – 1990 backward, the products of Xuan Lai profession village mostly is manufacture ladder, pillar, fishing rod, wooden sofa, bed, chair and table, house framework made by bamboo, phyllostachys, neohouzeaua with low value, products model not abundant, attracted not so much labor took part in, the household in villages mostly living by development of growing, feeding, the part of income from traditional handicraft of the village.

For the risk that prfession village can be died, Xuyen was very puzzle in days and nights thinking the way of new development direction for profession village. He notice that the market demand about the household handicraft products such as ladder, pillar, fishing – rod … more and more restricted, manufacture value is not high, whilst the demand of interiorand exterior funiture goods made by bamboo, rattan … strongly increasing, mostly products of bed, wardrobe, chait and table, bamboo…with high qualityt, ince model, variety style. This is just only development direction of Xuan Lai profession village in the coming time. He researched carefully the customers’ psychology, got to know the market, even with the market supply material to manufacture the products and consume the products. Because the desire of good quality, nice model, variety style, cheap price, matched with ability and taste, material order played the important role. Therefore, right from the year 1989 he had gone to forests of exploiting materials of bamboo, phyllostachys, neohouzeaua…in order to get to knowthe process of growing, the development of tress. And once he wanted tu buy any tress whose good characteristic to serve for manufacture shouuld choose them in which so that most suitable … And more reality, he just directly took part into growing and looking after forest at these places and just learning. And after gone through nearby 10 years, he had ever been living in provinces such as Thai Nguyen, Vinh Phuc, Lang Son, Cao Bang, Bac Kan, he decided to set up the profession right at his country in order to satisfy his interesting very long age. At this time, he owned very remarkable knowledge amount abount types of material, the progress of manufacture the traditional handicraft industries products of the village.

The first thing to do is to create the capital to purchase the equipment, invesment into factory construction, he encouraged quietly capital amount of the family, brrowed from his brothers and relatives more than 30 milions VND. And he invested all of them into manufacture and establishing his own manufacture team. His first products still was traditional handicraft products created stronger competitive ability because his base purchased the good quality material, cheap price and abundant variety model. And also those there are traditional and rural combined with graceful and modern characters suited for the consumers at luxury locations such as hotel, restaurants and even the rural people. For that reason, his products created good impression with the customers. Many of them can to his base and place the order. And after experienced for three years, his base attracted so many customers and amongst included the overseas customers. Due to the demand of capital, manufacture floor surface and labor force more and more large, he must rent more seven manufacture points, six high technique level in manufacture labors, investment into materials and means purchase, equipment, machinery to increase the capacity and higher manufacture effect.

At the moment his base there had been 10 manufacture, founddations with total using area is 1.500m2, 42 main high skillful labors and 18 sub labors at many small manufacture households. The products manufactured by his foundations appeared at the oversea markets such as Japan, American, EU…mostly EU market amongst and domestic maeket is Hanoi, Quang Ninh, Hai Duong, Dien Bien.

And in order to meet the business transaction demand more and more wide opening, operating the government policy encouraging and improving all of economy elements, amongst is private economy zone and private economy very interesting and priority to invesment for development. And after getting to know the guideline and policy of the Government, he noticed that the economy management model according to the model of co – operative organization is suitable. Therefore, based on the foundation of members demand, he made the application for setting up the co – operative. And at December 2004, his manufacture foundation decidded to establish the co – operative by the district People’s Committee with the name is Xuan Lai Bamboo and Rattan Import and Export – bearing the name of Xuan Lai tradition profession village with the products of fine arts handicrafts made from rattan, bamboo, phyllostachs and neohouzeaua.
